Six Delicious Ways to Cook Potatoes in your Air Fryer

I use the Instant™ Vortex® Air Fryer

Potatoes are a super popular food because they're tasty and can be cooked in many different ways. I love making them in the air fryer, because they taste and cook crispier. An air fryer is like a magical machine that cooks your food to perfection without using lots of oil. I want to share five easy and delicious ways to cook potatoes in your air fryer. These recipes are simple, and the results are absolutely delicious!

1. Classic Crispy Fries:

Let's start with something we all love: crispy French fries! Making them in an air fryer is super easy. Just cut your potatoes into thin strips, like the ones you get at fast-food places. Toss them with a bit of oil and some of your favorite seasonings (like garlic powder, paprika, and salt), and then put them in the air fryer. In no time, you'll have golden and crispy fries with a soft inside. They taste so good you won't believe they're not deep-fried. It takes about 20 minutes to slice the potatoes, season them, and air fry them to perfection.

2. Roasted Potato Wedges:

If you want something a bit heartier, try making roasted potato wedges in your air fryer. Cut your potatoes into wedge shapes and add some herbs, spices, and a little olive oil. Then, let the air fryer work its magic. It'll turn those wedges into crispy delights with loads of flavor. These make a great side dish or a tasty snack. They're ready in about 15-20 minutes in your air fryer.

3. Hasselback Potatoes:

Now, let's get fancy with Hasselback potatoes. They look impressive but are super easy to make. You slice your potatoes thinly, but not all the way through. The cut is approximately in half into thin fan-shaped slices. Then, brush them with melted butter or oil and sprinkle your favorite seasonings. The air fryer turns them into a masterpiece of crispy layers with a soft inside. It's like having a work of art on your plate. They can be served as a main dish, side dish or canapé. Slicing and seasoning takes about 15 minutes, and the air fryer takes care of the rest in about 25 minutes.

4. Stuffed Potato Skins:

Potato skins are a classic appetizer, and they're even better in the air fryer. First, bake your potatoes until they're soft. Then, you scoop out the insides, brush the skins with oil, and air fry them until they're super crispy. Fill them up with things like cheese, bacon, and sour cream. They're perfect for snacking or as an appetizer at a party. They're ready in about 15-20 minutes in your air fryer.

5. Parmesan Garlic Potato Cubes:

Parmesan garlic potato cubes. You cut your potatoes into small cubes and toss them with olive oil, garlic powder, and grated Parmesan cheese. Pop them into the air fryer, and they'll come out with a crispy outside and a delicious cheesy flavor. These little cubes are great as a side dish, and they taste amazing. To cook takes just 20-25 minutes in the air fryer.

6. Japanese Sweet Potatoes and Potatoes:

This last recipe is one of my favorite recipes and that I shared with you in my TikTok video – Japanese Sweet Potatoes and Potatoes.

Preparation: Start by cutting 2 potatoes and 2 Japanese sweet potatoes into evenly-sized chunks or wedges. Leave the skin on.

Seasoning: Toss the potato chunks in a bowl, add salt, garlic powder, pepper, onion powder, elote seasoning, paprika, and then mix them all. Add olive oil. They will change color, and this is a good sign that they are perfectly seasoned and ready.

Preheat the Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to around 400°F.

Air Frying: Place the seasoned sweet potatoes and potatoes in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Don't overcrowd the basket; you may need to cook them in batches if you have a larger quantity.

Cooking Time: Air fry the potatoes for approximately 20 minutes. Check and shake the basket or flip the pieces halfway through to ensure even cooking. The exact time may vary based on your air fryer model and the size of your potato pieces.

Testing Doneness: To check if they're done, insert a fork or toothpick into a potato piece. It should be tender and easily pierced when they are ready.

Serve: Once they are crispy and tender, remove the potato chunks from the air fryer and serve immediately. You can enjoy them as a side dish or snack with your favorite dipping sauce or seasoning. Try them with Salmon!

Potatoes Are Good for Your Health:

Potatoes are more than just delicious; they're also good for your health. They're rich in vitamins, fiber, and antioxidants. Potatoes can boost your energy, aid digestion, and support your immune system. When cooked in an air fryer, they retain their nutrients better than deep frying.

Serving Potatoes Made in the Air Fryer:

You can serve air fryer potatoes alongside various foods. They make a fantastic side dish for grilled chicken, fish, or steak. Add them to salads for extra crunch, or use them as a base for breakfast with eggs and veggies. Potatoes cooked in the air fryer are a versatile addition to your meals, and they complement a wide range of dishes.

So, go ahead, give these recipes a try, and enjoy the crispy potato goodness!
